Two concession contracts signed in 1994 and 1996 for the towns of Mafra (25 year contract) and Ourém (31 year contract) (Fátima), located in the North of Lisbon and in central Portugal. Veolia Água is responsible for operating and managing the water services thereby providing drinking water to around 100,000 people.
Two other concession contracts were signed in 2000 and 2001 with the towns of Valongo (36 year contract) and Paredes (35 year contract), located in the North of Portugal (Porto Region).
In July 2006, a 3 year outsourcing contract has been signed with Águas do Algarve. The scope of services includes the management of the complete multi-municipalities sewage system for the cities of Loulé, Faro and Olhão.
