Veolia Water is present on the Russian market since 1991 and has worked ever since with a number of local and Russian institutions to develop the concept of public-private partnership.
Since 2006, Veolia Water, through the company Yerevan Djur, took over the distribution of drinking water and sanitation in the city of Yerevan. The contract provided for a period of 10 years, was signed with the Armenian government, under the auspices of the World Bank in December 2005. It serves 1.2 million people with drinking water and 1.2 million in sanitation. It has 332,750 customers and 1,450 employees working in the service of Yerevan Djur.
In 2008, Veolia Voda SA has opened a representative office in Moscow in charge of coordinating its activities in Russia, CIS and Turkey.
Veolia Water also has an office in Kiev, Ukraine.
