Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies was established in South Korea in 2001. Today the company draws upon the global expertise of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies to offer municipalities (65% of turnover) and industry (35%) technological solutions for water treatment.

Water services for industrial clients
In 2000, Hyundai Petrochemical Co. entrusted the Veolia Water to the operation of drinking water and industrial water treatment facilities in the petrochemical complex in Daesan (a port situated in 150 km to the South of Seoul). The water treatment process of this project is particularly sophisticated, including one of the most important reverse osmosis facilities in Asia
In 2001, Hynix Semicoductor entrusted Veolia Water (in association with some Korean financial institutes), for the period of 17 years, the management of four water production plants and the distribution of ultra pure water, four drinking water facilities, two treatment facilities of industrial effluents and one for ultra pure water recycling, for the semi-conductor production sites (Ichon, Cheongju and Gumi)
In 2004, 2005, and 2007 Veolia Water Korea signed 4 contracts with the Kumho Group to manage the entire water cycle on two Petrochemical plants and one Polychem plant under 15 year agreements.
In 2008, Veolia Water signed a contract with Dongbu Steel. The project includes the building, operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater facilities at Dongbu Steel's new hot rolled plant at Asan Bay, Chungcheongnam-do Province.
In 2010, Veolia Water signed another contract with Dongbu Steel to operate its existing water and wastewater treatment facilities for its two major cold rolled steel plants in Asan Bay and Incheon respectively for a period of 5 years.
