Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies (VWS)
Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies is the technical subsidiary of Veolia Water and the World Leader in water treatment.
A specialist in engineering and turnkey design/build projects, Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies also offers a wide range of technological solutions.
With over 70 years of international experience, Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies and its specialist subsidiaries are able to draw upon an unsurpassed knowledge of traditional and innovative solutions in order to meet the demands of both industrial and municipal clients in over 50 countries.
A designer-constructor, partner of municipalities and industrial companies
On behalf of public authorities, VWS builds or refurbishes water production plants, wastewater treatment plants and sludge treatment facilities. Its ground rules are to anticipate regulatory requirements and guarantee the quality, safety and environmental benefit of its treatment facilities. Regions with a scarcity of freshwater are increasingly calling on VWS for seawater desalination, a technology in which it is undisputedly the world leader. The three major contracts signed in Spain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in 2007 bear witness to this trend. VWS's business with industrial companies covers production of process water (demineralized or ultrapure water, etc.), and effluent and sludge treatment and recycling. VWS also provides after-sales service. Its teams have expert knowledge of the specific processes of clients in industries such as food and beverage, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and pulp and paper, and offer tailor-made solutions that can be used at all their plants around the world.
Sade, Networks for living
Veolia Water's Sade subsidiary, the leading European builder of water and wastewater networks, possesses multidisciplinary expertise. It is recognized as a global specialist in the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of networks and their associated installations.
Innovative response to environmental challenges
From simple leak repairs to turnkey projects, Sade has multidisciplinary expertise that is bolstered by its policy of ongoing innovation. In addition to its trenchless techniques to reduce the disruption caused by repairs, Sade constantly deploys new activities that are economically, environmentally and socially acceptable and broadens its fields of work. Examples include the installation of "ecological" water connections that reduce the negative visual and atmospheric impacts of work sites; the development of rehabilitation procedures for networks and installations; the installation of geothermal heating systems; the construction of wells and boreholes; and, after diagnosis, the rehabilitation of existing installations.
Tailor-made solutions for industrial companies
Sade has its own in-house engineering team. This enables it to propose alternative techniques that are appropriate to the needs of its public - and private - sector clients and comply with regulations. A long-standing partner of public authorities, Sade has also been serving industrial companies for several years. It equips their sites with environmentally friendly hydraulic installations, employing solutions that meet their economic constraints and production requirements.
Specific skills for difficult-to-access sites
Sade has developed a ropework activity for sites that are difficult to access. Its specialists are qualified and specialized in both mountain climbing and hydraulic techniques. Adhering to high safety standards, they work on a wide range of assignments: laying or replacing pipes in water towers or under bridges; inspection and rebuilding of structures; installing anchorage points, access ladders or nets; natural draining on cliffs; inspection of confined spaces; work on pylons or antennas, and so on.
