The aqueduct extends over 110 kilometers, crossing the Querétaro state from Northeast to Southeast.
Querétaro's Aqueduct II, inaugurated earlier this year, will supply drinking water to the city of Querétaro with the metropolitan area and neighboring towns, which are home to about 550,000 people.
Proactiva Mexico will manage the system for 18 years.
Located at the North East of Mexico City, Querétaro sits, at an altitude of 1,825 meters, on a plateau bordered by two rows of hills.
Proactiva Media Ambiente has been working in Latin America since 1996 and is now operating in eight different countries. It is a joint venture between Veolia Environnement and FCC, the Spanish company specialized in environmental services and infrastructure.
