Running water, that's our daily job: second wave

On July 8, 2011, Veolia Water launched the second wave of its communication campaign entitled "Running water... that's our daily job" in the French national and regional daily press, formatted as an advertorial on "Facts & Figures".

  • In the Lorraine region, 210,000 customers monitor their daily water consumption in real time on Internet to prevent leakage and waste.

  • In the Paris region, a water treatment plant now sits at the heart of a biodiversity preservation area.

  • In Normandy, Veolia analyzes pipe material aging to reduce water leakage along its networks.

  • In the Sarthe Country, a 250 m2 greenhouse garden treats the municipal effluents of 6,000 inhabitants while saving energy, thanks to 300 plant species duplicating the natural depuration process occurring in rivers.

  • In the Nord County, a sanitation plant built at the heart of the city will be designed for zero-nuisance, energy self-reliance and recycling of the raw materials contained in the treatment biosolids.

  • In the Artois region at the core of a depressed mining area, Solidarity Advisors employed in every single Veolia agency devote their time to provide help and guidance to economically deprived customers.

  • In the Mediterranean region, micro-turbines imbedded into the drinking water network supply energy to several hundred households.

  • 376,000 hours of training were delivered in 2010 via the various Veolia Campuses spread across the French territory.
