November 29, 2011 - ParisVeolia wins nine-year public service concession contract for water service in Montauban
The Montauban municipality has awarded Veolia Water a nine-year public service concession (affermage) contract for water production and distribution. The contract is worth estimated cumulative revenue of 46 million euros.
The goal of the Montauban municipality is to improve the quality of its public water service, so performance targets, such as leak reduction, have been included in the contract.
Emphasis is also being given to technology and information with Veolia Water planning to implement remote meter reading, which will enable it to warn customers in real time of abnormal changes to their consumption.
Montauban has also set a target for the operator to reduce the price of water by 5%.
Veolia Water has made commitments to integrate the staff of the municipal water company and improve social improvements.
