Veolia Water has confirmed its commitment by signing a first charter issued by Noé Conservation: the green areas of the drinking water plant located in Annet-sur-Marne shall henceforth comply with the Jardins de Noé program specifications.
The plant in Annet-sur-Marne is located near several environmental protection areas, offering great potential for preserving the local biodiversity.In order to contribute to the preservation of the fragile local environment, a differentiated management program dedicated to these green areas has been established.Maintaining these areas is based on environmentally friendly and holistic techniques, aiming to preserve and encourage the development of local animal and plant species.Differentiated management techniques include:
- Creating hayfields in open spaces: the surface is mown down once a year between the months of September and November, leaving enough time for wildlife to nourish itself and accomplish its natural reproduction cycle;
- Avoiding the use of phytosanitary products for green area maintenance;
- Developing milder maintenance techniques, such as land mulching or hoeing.
