The Aquajunior website

The website for future consumer-citizens

This site - both educational and entertaining - encourages an awareness among children aged between 7 to 12 about conserving an essential and precious resource that we have to share - water.

When visiting Aquajunior.com children learn about water in a fun way. Going from section to section, children become aware of the fragility and scarcity of water.

In addition to the information it provides, this site contains animation, photos, games, mini-quizzes and a major test on the "water cycle".

The Aquajunior sections

"Drinking water" : explains in detail the process of producing drinking water from abstracting water from nature (rivers, lakes...) to how it gets to your tap. The production of drinking water is explained stage by stage, from screening to chlorination. Each stage is illustrated with computer graphics, a photo or animation.

"Using water" : lists the different uses of drinking water "in town", "on the farm", "in the factory" or "at home". It shows how water resources are distributed throughout the world.

"Screensavers" : two downloadable screensavers depict the water system in a town and in a house.

"Resources" : information sources, links to water websites. A source of useful information for pupils and their teachers.
