Veolia Environnement signs Germany's first industrial outsourcing contract for environmental services

Visteon Deutschland GmbH, a subsidiary of the United States' Visteon Corporation (the world's No. 3 automotive supplier), has selected Veolia Environnement as partner to operate the environmental services at its Düren production site.

The contract's scope will call on the know-how of three Veolia Environnement divisions: Dalkia, Veolia Water and Onyx. The scope covers the management of energy and industrial fluids, the entire water cycle, the management of industrial wastes and scrap metal, industrial cleaning, and the management of chemical products at the production site, as well as the management and maintenance of the administrative and industrial buildings.

The 10-year contract will be operated by Globalis GmbH, a joint subsidiary of the three Veolia Environnement divisions.

It represents cumulative revenue of approximately €60 million for Veolia Environnement and is the first industrial outsourcing contract to be signed in Germany in the field of environmental services. Globalis has a work force of 45 employees.

Henri Proglio, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Veolia Environnement, said: "This multiservice contract comes on the heels of a series of contracts signed by Veolia's various divisions with Visteon in Europe and the United States. It is the first of its kind in Germany and gives us the opportunity of once again showing that, integrated into a multiservices offer, the different types of know-how at Veolia meet the expectations of industrial customers. Our solutions are tailor-made and adapted to suit each of their sites."
