Schenectady Europe awards Veolia Environnement contract to manage utilities and environmental services at its Béthune site
The site mainly produces resins for the tire industry, adhesives and coatings. The scope of the contract involves three of Veolia Environnement's four business activities: energy and fluid production and distribution, management of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial wastes, and water and wastewater treatment. Services will include operating a biological wastewater treatment plant.
The seven-year contract commenced on February 1, 2006 and will generate cumulative revenue of more than €12 million.
Stéphane Caine, Executive Vice President Industrial Markets for Veolia Environnement, said:

We develop tailored solutions for our clients that take into account their environmental situation. Our solutions are based on our expertise in water, waste management, energy services and transportation. Our network of local and regional agencies guarantees our clients that they will always receive the quality of service and resourcefulness that is vital in industrial activities."

This approach will significantly strengthen environmental protection and cost control for us."
