Elpozo Alimentación S.A. employs 2 800 people and is responsible for the indirect creation of over 10 000 jobs. The company also has subsidiaries in France and in Portugal. Its products are available in 42 countries.

The Problem

In 2001, Elpozo Alimentación S.A. enlarged its factory in Alhama de Murcia (Spain) with the addition of a new meat and fresh meat products processing plant, for which they need a wastewater treatment plant. The plant was to be developed in accordance with its Environmental Performance Plan, a framework that ensures sustainable development and compliance with environmental regulations.
