It is also a contractual obligation, as its customers expect a clear policy on preventing accidents at work and on health and safety.

This policy relies on a network of safety officers from across the world working on different safety materials (a health and safety charter, a CD-rom on health and safety and a booklet on health and safety regulations) as well as on training.

Quality and environment in the service of its customers

The cornerstone of Veolia Water's policy on quality and the environment is its management of its customers' water services.

Customers expect undertakings by Veolia Water on public health, protection of the environment, ensuring continuity and quality of service and for the Group to conform to all regulatory requirements.

An essential element of being competitive, these requirements necessitate that the company is more and more efficient through the mutually beneficial practice of sharing expertise and best practice.

In this context, standards, in particular those required for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, widely implemented throughout the company, are the benchmark and lead to certification. Moreover, these standards are required when invited to bid.
