Veolia Water endeavours to always be sensitive to situations where customers are facing either temporary or permanent financial difficulties. The company does all that it can to work with them in finding solutions that will avoid them having their water supply cut off.

The solutions may also be communal. For instance, in some countries, Veolia Water has introduced social connections. These supply running water to homes or areas which did not have running water previously. The costs incurred in doing this are partly subsidized by the local authorities, when the people living there are unable to pay for the cost.

Finally, Veolia Water also takes into account the needs of disabled customers. As a result, several of the company's subsidiaries have introduced handsets which have keyboards that enable staff to communicate with consumers who are hard of hearing.
