Billing
As a general rule, Veolia Water also bills water customers as part of its contract to manage the outsourced water services entrusted to it by a local authority. This process must meet the triple objective of ensuring a fairly priced bill that is sent out in good time and is easy to read and understand.
Bearing this in mind, Veolia Water's engineers carry out meter readings at regular intervals at customers' homes. These readings will be used to calculate the bills that are then sent out.
In several French municipalities - primarily Paris and Metz - Veolia Water is also working on a remote meter reading system that can be used to obtain there and then a reading of each meter thanks to a radio communications system. Customers now no longer have to have their meters read in their homes and can have real time knowledge of their water consumption.
The bill itself presents the information in a clear and easy to read format.
