Treating odors

Municipal wastewaters generate foul smelling bi-products that constitute a form of pollution.

These bi-products are essentially made up of compounds containing :

  • nitrogen (in particular ammonia and amine) ;
  • sulphur (hydrogen sulphide, mercaptan) .

Physical-chemical and biological techniques are used to remove them.
In far less quantities, organic compounds such as aldehydes, cetanes and hydrocarbons are also found in industrial gas effluents.
