Veolia Water in Russia

Since 1991 Veolia Water has had a majority stake in "Saint Petersburg - Pure water", a company specializing in research into leakage from municipal water supply networks.

In 2002 Veolia Water became the leading international water services company operating in Russia from Moscow and currently from St. Petersburg.

Veolia Water is working in close co-operation with leaders in the Russian market, both state organizations and private companies.

Since 2003 Veolia Water has been working with the regional Moscow government to develop the concept of a Public Private Partnership with the towns and cities in this region.

In October 2006, Veolia Water, signed a partnership with the Russian companies Evraziysky (investment company) and EWP (Eurasian Water Partnership, management company) for the development of water and wastewater projects in Russia. Veolia Water will acquire an interest in the Company EWP which, at term, will amount to 50%, and will assure water and wastewater services to the town of Rostov-on-Don via the company Voda Rostova.

OTV Romania Apa, a subsidiary of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, offers complete design and build solutions for the treatment of potable water and wastewater, including:

• Potable and wastewater treatment works for municipalities
• Small treatment works adapted to the needs of rural and semi-urban communities
• Process Water and wastewater solutions for industry
• Commissioning

In July 2004, Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, Veolia Water's technological solutions subsidiary, signed a contract with Vodokanal, the water company for Saint-Petersburg, to build a sludge treatment plant for to build a sludge treatment plant for the North St. Petersburg wastewater treatment plant.
