The educational center
In 2006, GUSCO created its first educational center aimed at raising the population's awareness of environmental issues and solutions provided by the Laemchabang water recycling plant.
The tour of the center starts with an introduction to local and global sustainable development issues. The following stages of the tour consist of in-depth analysis of more specific themes: the need to protect water resources, the water cycle, the effects of global warming, the different types of water usage, environmental threats and challenges or issues relating to sustainable development in the future.
The educational tour also aims at providing the public with information on the way current technologies are used to respond to these environmental issues, such as the membrane technology implemented in the Laemchabang water recycling plant. Different interactive tools are used: videos, events, experiments, computer games as well as work projects for students.
Over 1,000 people visited the Center in the first five months of opening.
