Fenwick, Cenon-sur-Vienne/Chatellerault - France Automotive industry

The client

Fenwick is part of the Linde group, the world leader in industrial materials-handling trucks operating in three areas: industrial gases and engineering, materials handling, industrial cold.

The Cenon-sur-Vienne site is the Linde group core design and manufacturing facility for warehousing trucks: pallet trucks, stackers and order pickers. 70% of the trucks are exported, mainly inside Europe.

The client's needs

At the Cenon-sur-Vienne site, the truck manufacturing line includes tunnel washers and painting booths.
The effluents from these units are treated in an on-site physical-chemical treatment plant with a capacity of 40 m3 per day.
Fenwick's wishes were to:

  • improve the quality of the industrial-effluent discharges,
  • save on treatment products used in the tunnel washers,
  • delegate the water treatment on its site and, focus on its core business.

Our solution

Fenwick signed with Veolia Water a contract for the operation and maintenance of:

  • the two tunnel washers used before the painting of the parts, each tunnel including, among others, an ultrafiltration unit,
  • the drainage pits of the two painting booths,
  • the industrial waste water treatment plant.

Veolia Water reduced the use of cleaning products used in the tunnels by:

  • fine tuning of the facilities so as to optimise the treatment of parts,
  • setting up a reverse-osmosis unit in each of the tunnel washers to improve the cleaning water quality.
