Veolia Water in India Water services for public authorities

Veolia Water AMI has had a presence in India for several years with outsourcing and operational assistance contracts in the areas of drinking water production and distribution. Veolia Water provides different services to towns such as Jamshedpur, Chennai or Nagpur, and to the state of Karnataka.

The main challenge was to prove the feasibility and economic interest of the pilot continuous water distribution programme, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week in the state of Karnataka. We had to prove that the inhabitants of the pilot zones of Gulbargh, Hubli-Dharwad and Belgaum were expecting this service and that they were prepared to participate financially in return for a good service.

In the state of Karnataka, Veolia Water contributes long-term solutions for its Indian partners and urban populations. The company is contributing to the improvement of living conditions thanks to the extension of access to essential services, the large programme to refurbish networks and modern and accessible customer service.

Veolia puts customer satisfaction at the heart of its priorities. A permanent client services department, a database, a call centre and a complaints management system have all been put into place. In addition, thanks to Veolia, Indian populations, which only had running water distribution systems intermittently, for three hours a day, can finally get access to a continuous supply.
