Alçesu, a subsidiary of Veolia Water, has been responsible for the distribution of water in the coastal towns of Cesme and Alacati since 2003. These resorts see their population quadrupling during the summer.
The contract, signed for a period of 10 years, was awarded after an international tender by the two towns with the support of the World Bank. It receives $11 million (€7 million) of funding and covers all water service (production, distribution, customer service and maintenance) and sanitation activities.
