Veolia Water in Burkina Faso

Operating in Burkina Faso since 2001, Veolia Water signed a 5 year partnership contract with the state run company ONEA - Office National de l'Eau et de l'Assainissement (National Water and Wastewater Office), which operates the water and wastewater services for 36 urban districts in the country.

Veolia Water is using its technical expertise to assist in a major investment program by the BurkinanState and ONEA to improve the water and wastewater services before the Ziga dam comes into operation.

As part of the outsourcing contract, the aim of which is to help adapt the organization and the commercial and financial policy of the ONEA, Veolia Water is responsible for assisting in:

• optimizing the commercial and financial management of the ONEA
• the creation of a customer services department
• improving customer satisfaction
• reducing the cost customer ratio
• implementing a system whereby expertise can be shared with ONEA staff.
