Waterdev - Development Aid

Waterdev for International Cooperation

Waterdev supports French public authorities and international solidarity organizations (ISO) who wish to play a part in achieving the Millennium development goals. In 2006 this included the towns of Montreuil, Narbonne, Dieppe, Versailles, the Greater Lyon Region, the Greater Paris water authority (Syndicat des Eaux d'Ile-de-France) and the region of Poitou-Charentes.

Waterforce experts provides local communities and authorities with a more comprehensive technical support thanks to training and development initiatives namely within the framework of decentralized cooperation projects.

The French Development Alliance (l'Alliance pour le développement)

Waterdev makes a major contribution to the French Development Alliance. This is a French public private partnership, launched in 2006, which focuses on the environment and health.

Along with the other founding members of the Alliance (French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, French Development Agency, Pasteur Institute, Sanofi-Aventis), Waterdev ran its first three programs in Madagascar (water, sanitation, health and education), Niger (access to water and school sanitation) and Vietnam (access to water and the biological fight against dengue fever).
